We are deeply saddened by the passing of Allyson Harvey, a cherished young life whose presence brought warmth, kindness, and inspiration to all who knew her. Allyson, born on July 16, 2007, in Queensland, departed this world far too soon on March 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by compassion, dedication, and joy.
Allyson was a valued former player of Wests Juniors Australian Football Club, where she demonstrated not only her passion for the game but also her commitment to teamwork and sportsmanship. Joining the club from Moggill in 2022 at the U15 level, she quickly became an integral part of the team and went on to play with the U17 squad. Her milestone of 50 games, celebrated in June last year, stands as a testament to her dedication to a sport she deeply loved.
Beyond the football field, Allyson devoted 13 remarkable years to the Girl Guides movement, serving across Happy Valley, Kenmore, and Moggill Districts. Her contributions were both meaningful and far-reaching—whether selling Girl Guide biscuits, participating in Snow Trek adventures, contributing to Boomerang Bags initiatives, or proudly representing her community as a medal bearer at the INAS Games. She also honored traditions through ANZAC City Marches and Gunfire Breakfasts, embodying a spirit of service and respect.
Allyson will be remembered for her genuine kindness, thoughtful nature, and unwavering sense of fairness. She had a rare ability to uplift those around her, offering encouragement and friendship with sincerity and warmth. Her adventurous spirit and enthusiasm for life shone brightly in every camp, gathering, and shared moment. Even in the simplest ways—like introducing the unique combination of jam and Vegemite on damper—she left lasting, joyful memories with those she loved.
Coming from a devoted Guiding family, alongside her sister Emma and her mother Cat, Allyson carried forward a proud tradition of community service and leadership. Her life, though brief, was profoundly impactful, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, teammates, and the wider community.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Harvey family during this difficult time. May Allyson Harvey’s memory continue to inspire kindness, courage, and unity in all whose lives she touched.
